Whisper Of A Past Pain (Part One)
Unlike most tragic stories, the night started joyful. Full of potential. They seemed to hit it off. She was laughing at his jokes; he was gentle and kind. She couldn't imagine what was about to unfold.
They had met online, talking for months. Only distance standing in there way. Developing unimaginable feelings for one another. Common interests in health care brought them together but their natural wildness is what made them stay.
Tonight was the night. The night she would meet him, she would announce her feelings.
The night she would remember forever.
But not for the reasons she believed.
Amy picked her mystery man up at the train station. Butterflies running ramped in her stomach, her heart felt like it would fall out her chest beating to hard and fast. She waits. Waited for the train to arrive. Inhaling her cigarette, then lighting another straight away. The anxiety was overwhelming.
Oh god. She could see the train.
Her hands were shaking. She paced up and down the platform. Stared at by prying spectators. The train arrived. Stopping dead in its tracks. Many people departed that day. But only one matter to Amy. Only one, would change Amy’s life forever. Their eyes met. Across several people. But to them, there was no one else. Her heart skipping several beats. Amy froze. Time had slowed down. It felt like hours. His black hair shining from the reflection of light. They walked towards each other effortlessly. Amy was breathless. He approached her and smiled. His smile was genuine. That smile washed a feeling of relief over Amy.
She felt at peace.
A sense of calm. As to say their souls had known each other for many years. In the car ride to Amy’s house, all anxieties were gone. Amy experienced his life in her heart. Her soul yearned for his. It was like they were best friends. Knowing each other for years. Laughter echoed through the car. Arriving at the house, their spirits didn't deter. Standing outside, with the yellow sun beaming down on Amy’s face. She felt beauty. For once in Amy’s life, she felt at peace with herself. Wondering how one person can make her forget all her past traumas.
But he wasn’t one person. He was a god in Amy’s eyes.
Despite Amy’s feelings, the night would become blackened and forever imprinted on her heart.
